Sigma Haul #2

I did another rind of sigma shopping and this time I did it through amazon, which was probably not the best idea since I couldn’t apply any discount codes. It was just the easiest thing to do since I was on my phone using the amazon shopping app. ( that is one dangerous app! )

I really had my eyes on the travel sets, both The Cities collection and the Make Me Up Travel Kit. I was originally thinking of buying both sets with the intent to put them into one cup and carry that for travel but I realized you can’t fit that much in there. Also, I realized that it may be a bit over the top to have so many brushed while traveling.

So instead, I decided to mix and match the kit to the brushes I liked and then give the other half to my little sister for Christmas :p

The make me classy kit originally had the following brushes:
Pencil – E30 Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, upper and lower lash line. Natural bristles.

Tapered Blending – E40 Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.

Eye Shading – E55 Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Natural bristles.

Small Angle – E65 Essential for the application of gel or cream eye liner on the upper and lower lash line. Synthetic bristles.

Large Powder – F30 Very dense with a rounded top. Ideal to apply powder products on face and body. Natural bristles.

Large Angled Contour – F40 The angled shape makes this brush ideal to apply blush or contour shades. Natural bristles.

Foundation – F60 Can be used to apply liquid or cream foundation. Recommended to apply moisturizer and conceal large areas. Synthetic bristles.

While the cities collection had:
Eye Liner – E05 An extra fine-tipped brush that delivers a precise, firm, even stroke to line the eyes. Synthetic bristles.

Tapered Blending – E35 Fluffy, long-bristled brush with tapered tip. Ideally used to apply and blend color to the crease area and to soften harsh edges. Natural bristles.

Small Tapered Blending – E45 Small domed brush with highly tapered tip. Versatile, this brush can be used to precisely apply and blend intense colors to the crease area. Natural bristles.

Large Shader – E60 Flat shape is ideal for application of cream formulas and eye shadow primers. Natural bristles.

Small Contour – F05 Ideal to apply, blend or contour powder products. The softly rounded dome top smoothly blends color into the face. Natural bristles.

Duo Fibre Powder/Blush – F15 Medium-sized tapered brush. Widely disperses highly pigmented or mineralized powders. Blend of natural and synthetic bristles.

Large Powder – F30 Fluffy and rounded tip. Suitable application of powder products on face or body. Natural bristles.

When I did the mix and matching, I made sure that my sis would get a brush for equivalent use so it’s not like I took all the good brushes and left her with the crap ones. I think all the brushes are great, I just have my favorites or I have other brushes that can do the job. In the end, the set I came up with was essentially The Cities collection but I swapped the E60 for the E45 since my sister has bigger eyes than me, and the E05 for the E65 since I don’t use a lot of liquid liner, I use an small angled brush more to fill in my sparse brows. Also, I’ve already given my sis an angled brush before but I don’t think she has a liner brush yet. So that’s my set.. To be honest, if I were cruel id also take the E40 and E30 from her set but that would be just horrible. I still want to give my sis a more or less complete set. For E40, I could already use the E35 and for the E30, I can probably use the E45 for what i use the pencil brush for… Hmm pencil brush is tempting…

The other things I got was another Dry n Shape, the body brush, another brush cup holder since I’m thinking of rearranging my vanity again, and a full sized E25 and F35.

I think this is going to be my last shopping splurge of the year…
